Privacy

No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. What you choose to keep stays in your browser.

Who runs this site

I do: Natan Nalepa, in Warsaw, Poland. For anything about this page or your data, reach me here:

If you write to me by email, Discord or Instagram, I use your address or username and your message only to reply, and keep them only as long as the conversation needs. These services are run by Google (Gmail), Discord and Meta (Instagram), which handle your message under their own privacy policies and may do so in the USA. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in answering you.

Cookies, analytics and trackers

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or trackers. Every file these pages load, fonts included, comes from this site itself.

What your browser keeps

When you change the style, light or dark, motion or the text size, or highlight a passage, pick its colour or write a note, your browser keeps that choice in its own storage (localStorage), so it is still there on the next page and on your next visit. Nothing is kept before you make one of these choices. It stays in this browser until you clear it, and it is never sent anywhere: nobody else receives it.

Each kept item has a name that starts with nx-, for example nx-style, nx-theme, nx-motion, nx-read-size, nx-mark-colour (the highlight colour you last picked), or nx-marks: followed by a page (your highlights and notes on that page). This button removes all of them; so does clearing this site's data in your browser's settings.

Hosting and your data

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts it for me as a processor. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address. Your IP address is needed for this: without it, a page cannot reach your browser. If a page fails to load, your browser may also send Cloudflare a short error report. Your browser keeps the setting for that report for seven days; Cloudflare's network sets it, not this site.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a reachable, secure personal website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare may process this data in the USA; it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as it needs it to deliver the pages and protect its network, as its own policy sets out; this site keeps no logs of its own. Nothing about you is decided automatically. Details: Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask me for access to your data, to correct or erase it, or to restrict its use, through the contacts above.

You can object at any time to my use of your data based on my legitimate interest (Article 21 GDPR).

You can also complain to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, ul. Stanisława Moniuszki 1A, 00-014 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl).
